In October, the IDF shuttered all of the businesses in Hebron, including Ghassan's gift shop in the Old City of Hebron. The occupation had previously put severe limitations on the lives of local Palestinians in Hebron. But after October 7, people's ability to make a living was completely cut off.
Two years of war has meant two years of drought for local businesses in Hebron. We are working with local farmers, factories, and makers to help them to keep going in the face of this endless war.
Our mission is to bring Palestinian products to the world, and to support Palestinian farmers, factories, and families at home.
Sophie + Ghassan met back in 2018. Sophie was visiting the West Bank for the first time and stayed at Ghassan's hostel, H2 Hostel. The two became fast friends and stayed in touch over the years. Ghassan is an entrepreneur and started several ventures over this time, always prioritizing supporting his family and local businesses.
It all started when Ghassan asked Sophie - "if I sent kuffiyehs to the States, do you think people would buy them to support Palestine?" Multiple shipping misadventures across the occupied territories and around the world, a living room full of keffiyehs and packing materials, and 300+ keffiyehs later, the answer is clear.
We've seen that all of you care deeply about Palestine, about wearing your solidarity, and about supporting local Palestinian businesses.
